CLOWN – DIRECTING THE PLAY
A THREE DAY CLOWN WORKSHOP WITH FRASER HOOPER
1, 2, 3 APRIL 2016. 10am – 4pm
What makes a great clown? How do you create a show, hold an audience and get them to stay? Starting with rhythm and play, participants will quickly discover the joys of seriously clowning around in a practical workshop that shows you how to build material into comic routines. Topics covered will include working the audience, developing style, directing and object theatre. This course is open to both beginners and those with more experience.
After a glittering career in menswear, Fraser Hooper gave it all up to follow the red nose. Twenty seven years on his unique brand of award-winning comedy has delighted thousands of audiences in over thirty countries across the globe. From sell out shows to guest appearances in nearly every major Street, Theatre and Clown Festival Fraser has established a huge legion of fans. For twelve years he was the regular clown tutor at The National Circus Centre London and now has become a much sought-after teacher at circus schools and theatre festivals worldwide. At present there are no plans to go back to menswear.
